Terms of use

The short version: we offer editorial guidance about children’s films and series. You decide what is right for your family.

Accounts are for adults

Accounts are for parents and other adults. If you create an account, you are responsible for it — for keeping your password private, for the child profiles you add, and for activity that happens under your account.

What this service is

The Parent’s Cut is a curated discovery and educational-reference service. We do not host, stream, sell, or rent any of the films or television programs in our catalog. Where a title is available to watch is a matter for the studios and streaming or rental services that carry it.

Guidance, not a verdict

Age guidance, lessons, educational commentary, chapter fit, ratings, and recommendations are editorial opinion. Children differ, and only you know yours. You remain responsible for deciding what is appropriate for your family, and we encourage you to check a title yourself before watching together.

The Parent’s Cut provides general informational and educational commentary. It is not professional educational, medical, psychological, developmental, or other professional advice, and it is not a substitute for a parent’s own judgment about their child.

Availability changes

Titles move between services, leave catalogs, and change price or region without notice. Availability information may be out of date, and we cannot guarantee that a title can be watched where and when you want it.

Acceptable use

Please do not misuse the service: no disrupting or overloading it, no scraping or bulk copying of our catalog and editorial content, no attacking it, and no attempting to access accounts or data that are not yours.

We may suspend or close accounts that are used abusively or in breach of these terms.

Intellectual property

Films, television programs, artwork, trademarks, and related material belong to the studios, rights holders, and services that own them. Their appearance here is reference and commentary, not a claim of ownership or an endorsement. Our own editorial writing and design belong to The Parent’s Cut.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, The Parent’s Cut is independent and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the studios, distributors, streaming services, or other rights holders referenced in the service.

Disclaimer and liability

We work hard to keep the library accurate and the service running, but it is provided as-is: we cannot promise it will always be available, error-free, or complete. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from your use of the service or from decisions made on the basis of our editorial guidance.

Governing law

These terms and your use of The Parent’s Cut are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service develops. The date below always shows the current version.
